Shield Protection Services is guided by one of Malaysia's most distinguished figures in national security and correctional leadership.
Dato' Seri Haji Nordin bin Haji Muhamad served as the Commissioner General of Prisons Malaysia, the highest-ranking office of the Malaysian Prison Department, from January 2022 until early 2025, the culmination of a decorated career spanning three and a half decades in national service.
Born in Pasir Mas, Kelantan, he began his career with the Malaysian Prison Department on 1 August 1990 and rose through every rank of the service. His senior appointments included Director of Bentong Prison, Director of the Correctional Policy Division, and Deputy Commissioner General of Prisons (Rehabilitation), before his elevation to the nation's top correctional office. He holds a qualification in Human Resource Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia.
As Commissioner General, he modernised Malaysia's correctional system through community rehabilitation programmes, including the Parole and Corporate Smart Internship (CSI) initiatives aimed at reducing recidivism. He was among the senior officers instrumental in the implementation of Malaysia's Parole System, and in 2002 was seconded to Timor-Leste to assist the newly independent nation in drafting its prison laws and regulations.
